Main Star ~ DLO

Throughout the term we have been working on a poetry anthology. We have done lots of various poems. 

My favorite poem that I have done would have to be the "found" poem we did this week (found on page nine)!

Main Star ~ DLO

On Wednesday this week it was technology! We made hot cross buns, they were the most tastiest hot cross buns I've ever tasted in my life. The ingredients are...

• A pinch of cinnamon 
• 1 cup of flower
• 1 gram of yeast
• 3/4 cup of chocolate chips
• and 3/4 cups of water

The best part about making the food was watching it grow in the oven because it kept on expanding!

Main Star ~ 5 Random acts of KINDNESS!

This term for main stars we had to do 5 Random acts of KINDNESS! I did this because it gave me one main star point! Here are the 5 Random acts of KINDNESS that i did!

• I poured Mum & Dad a cup of tea
• I saved Mum, Dad and my sister a piece of a hot (more like cold) cross bun I made.
• I helped dad put/hide stuff from the storms!
• Went around to grandparents and helped tidy garden up
• Did House work

Main Star ~ Do Basic Facts 4x a week

For our Main Stars we had to do our basic facts, 4x a week. This task was to achieve yourself an extra Main Star point.

We did basic facts on Monday and Friday, while Mrs England was teaching us. But now we have Mr Wood, so we are doing it every day. 

The goal for basic facts is to be able to know them for when we get a job to make life easier, (but I think it is for the big trophy that a YR 8 might get at the end of the year)!

This book is about Andy and Terry having to babysit Mr Big Nose's grandchildren, because Mr Big Nose is on holiday. Terry, Andy and Jill get into a lot of trouble by losing the children in their 91 Story Treehouse! Will they find the children and get there book into Mr Big Nose before it is too late?

Title: Heroes of Olympus The Mark of Athena
Author: Rick Riordan
Genre: Fantasy, mythology and detective fiction

Bio:
This book is about seven demigods having to go on a quest to save their friend Nico De Angelo before he dies. But Annabeth also has to save the Athena Parthenos to save them from whatever confronts them on their next journey. Will they successfully save Nico and kill the Giants?

Main Star ~ Read 4x A Week

As part of my main stars I had to read 4x a week. This term I have been reading the book Heroes of Olympus The Mark of Athena. This book has 572 pages, and is the third book out of the Heroes of Olympus series.

Main Star ~ Swimming sports

As part of my main stars this term I had to be an active participant in Grey Main swimming sports. I did not do this because Grey Main did not take every body to swimming sports as it was held in Runanga and the pool wasn't big enough for everyone.

Main Star ~ Design a cupcake

Last week it was the family fiesta! For the family fiesta we had to bake 1 to 6 cupcakes, and decorate them.

I didn't make my cupcakes at home because I made them at technology on Wednesday. The mix for the cupcakes is a sponge batch, our dose made 8 big cupcakes.

The ingredients for the mix are 2 1/2 cups of flour, an egg and 3/4 cup of water. For the icing we had a 1/4 of a jug filled with hot water and 1/2 a cup of icing sugar. We had to mix them together to make a thickish mixture of icing then we had to pour the icing onto our cupcakes. 

We had a choice of putting on chocolate chip or 100s & 1000s. We put on both of the toppings to make it extraordinary.

This book is about three demigods having to go on a quest to save the god Thanos and to stop the evil monster from escaping the doors of death. But they also have to stop the monsters from attacking and destroying camp jupiter ... will they succeed or will they fail?

Main Star ~ DLO

This week we made Apple crumble in technology! The apple crumble had apples, oat trail mix and cranberries. We had to chop the cranberries in half and the apples into thin mini cubic shapes. 
Then we had to mix the oatmeal and fruits together, after we had done that we had to put it all into the oven at 180 bake for 20 mins. 

My food wasn't properly cooked so we had to microwave it.
